Buying and Breeding Options

Our adult Purebred Sable dairy goats are registered with the American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA).  Kids will be registered with ADGA or sold with application for ADGA registration.   We do not sell any goats for pets.  We only sell working goats for dairy, breeding stock and/or meat .  Once you buy the goat, it is your choice how you raise it.

We have participated in ADGA linear appraisal since 1987 and were last appraised in May 2019.  We are not on DHI so we do try to participate in yearly one-day official ADGA milk tests if available.  We attend about 5-7 shows a year.  Our herd is tested periodically for TB, brucellosis, and CAE.  Our January 2020 herd tests for CAE, CL & Johne's (WADDL small ruminant biosecurity screening) on all 14 goats were negative.  The January 2019 brucellosis tests on the entire herd (15) were negative.  TB tests done January 2020 were negative on the whole herd (14).  ; Kids are raised on CAE negative does or bottle raised as needed.   We do not pasteurize colostrum or milk as the herd is healthy and remains negative for CAE.  If you are preordering kids, please advise of your preference.

A $100 deposit will reserve the breeding of your choice with the balance due at the time of pickup at the farm.  Your deposit will be refunded or transferred to another kid if the desired kid is not born, does not come up to our standards or if the animal is needed for herd replacement.  Prices quoted are for animals picked up at the farm by 8 weeks after birth.  Additional charges including board, shipping crates, health certificate, shipping costs, vet testing, etc are the buyer's responsibility.

All animals are guaranteed healthy and free of disqualifying defaults when they leave our farm.  Since we can not control any stress that may occur as a result of shipping, environment or management once the animal leaves our farm, we can not offer further quarantees.

Frequently milkers, bucks and older kids are for sale because we must remain at a manageable herd size.  Check the "Goats for Sale" page to see what may be of interest to you.

We offer a number of breeding options.  If you are interested in purchasing semen, please see the "Semen for Sale" page.

Our bucks are offered for outside service to healthy does (abcess-free, no ringworm, no soremouth, etc) and we have limited boarding available on the farm.

If you are interested in a buck kid, I need to know early in the year as I do not keep buck kids very long if not reserved.

Please feel free to call, write or email if you need more information.
